Production Engineering Lead (Moulding)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create production concept and update/detail it during PDP stages for Automotive Traction Drive Systems in accordance with the MAHLE Production System and Automotive Standards
- lead of prototype built-up and development of transfer molding technology in plant Sempeter (SLO)
- Visit and audit of machine suppliers.
- Create and continuously detail production, tooling, logistics and packaging concept throughout project lifetime.
- Prepare and support MOP workshop
- Validate and release production concept for transfer molding cells
- Ensure production requirements and confirm feasibility (related to production process) and create lists of requirements for tools and machines
- Set-up budget and timeline
- Prepare and perform pre- and final acceptance of production lines and lead ramp-up of new products
- Coordinate design of tools and equipment with suppliers and plant
- Structure all production related work in regard to function, quality, cost and timeline
- Coordinate the work packages of sub-Project Team Production within PDP and ensure timely decisions in Core Team and Extended Team

- Create transparency of the sub-Team progress and ensure proper reporting
- Calculate and define standard times, cost for tooling and required CAPEX
- Issue control plan including test instructions and update during PDP
- Conduct risk analysis/Process-FMEA (including Logistics-FMEA)
- Create routings and maintain system master data and update Master Production engineering tool (MPET)
- Ensure production and machine capacities & utilization
- Prepare and perform Pre-Series Production and IPA
- Prepare customer process audits and ensure successful start of production
- Propose design modifications and calculate benefits
- Propose the application of new production technologies, initiate, and monitor production trials and analyze results e.g., transfer molding
- Develop, coordinate, introduce and monitor measures to improve economic ratio and to improve production technologies
- Support engineering change documentation
- Support gap analysis in regard to CAPEX, tooling costs, cycle times and quantity of workers
- Put the documents related to the Domain deliverables in EasyDMS
Experience and qualifications:
- >5 years of experience in automotive production or production engineering with transfer molding or injection molding background
- Deep process know-how in transfer or injection molding
- Good knowledge in relevant production technologies e.g. rotor assembly, hairpin/ insertion winding, laser welding, EOL testing etc.
- Well structure approach and perfectly organized
- Good project management skills
- Highly self-motivated and willingness to learn
- Willingness to travel and stay abroad (20-40% - depending on location)
- Very good know-how in Practical Problem Solving, Lean production, SMED, Continuous Improvement, Technical Standards, Process and Product development for transfer/injection molding
- English skill level: Full Professional / fluent in spoken and written English
- good MS office (power point, excel, word) skills are mandatory
